Agenda as follows:
9:00 AM: Grab and Go Breakfast Items provided by the WWP
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM:
Welcome Table/Tent (ongoing)
Program Interest Tables/Tent – Volunteer Interest, EAP Treatment & EAL Workshop Interest (ongoing)
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Tour the Facility – meet up at the registration table. Guided tour conducted by volunteers who will take warriors on a tour and discuss volunteer opportunities here at the sanctuary, the value of giving back your time; while sharing their personal experiences of how volunteer service here has helped them.
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Nature Walk – meet up at the registration table. Warriors who are able, will take a guided nature walk with a member of our treatment team.
10:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Discussion – Introduction to the Eagala Therapy Model – Why Horses? What’s Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)? What’s Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)? What are the Benefits of Each?
Location: Growth and Learning Center
* note: enclosed, covered arena – seating will be on hay bales placed along the perimeter of the arena building
11:00 AM – 12:00 nn: Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Small Group Demonstration
Activity: Obstacle course – an opportunity for warriors to experience hands on what an equine therapy session could look like in a group atmosphere, teaming up with the horses and other warriors to achieve a certain goal.

12:00 nn – 12:30 PM: “Enjoy lunchtime snacks provided by WWP”
Location: Garden area
*note: under covered tents, tables, chairs provided by FAAAS

2:00 PM – 2:45 PM: Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Group Activity
Activity: Herd Observation. “Horses in the Room – The Horse Path Therapeutic Cards”
Location: Growth and Learning Center

3:00 PM – 3:45 PM: Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Group Activity
Activity: Horse Grooming. Warriors team up with an experienced volunteer or treatment team member of FAAAS to learn about horse grooming, and the therapeutic benefits of grooming a horse.

4:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Tours – meet up at the registration table. Guided tour conducted by volunteers who will take warriors on a tour and discuss volunteer opportunities here at the sanctuary, the value of giving back your time; while sharing their personal experiences of how volunteer service here has helped them.
4:35 PM – 5:00 PM: Self Care – Why It’s Important for Everyone – including the horses
Activity: Brief discussion and demonstrations of horses receiving Reiki energy healing treatment and equine massage techniques.

5:00 PM – Closing Activity – Mindfulness and Meditation – it only takes 5 minutes or less!

*After each of the presentations warriors can go visit our treatment team table to get further information, sign up for individual and group sessions, offered free of charge through our VETS scholarship program funding.
