The Forever Amber Story
Michele and Foreveramber, September 2006
Founded by Michele Bolinger, Forever Amber Acres (FAA) came to be after she experienced significant loss in her life. After rescuing her first horse in 2006, a fiery Thoroughbred mare named “Foreveramber” she quickly understood the true healing power of horses. Michele made it her mission to give a voice to the voiceless special needs horses, many of which had experienced trauma themselves and who were headed for slaughter. The Gulf War affected Michele in a very personal and profound way and in honor of a special veteran it became Michele’s vision to offer military and veterans the opportunity to be transformed through the healing power of horses!
With over a decade of experience working with veterans and military personnel, we understand the complexities of military life and provide a supportive environment for healing in a safe and non-judgmental environment. We believe in being accessible and inclusive to all active duty military and veterans who are honorably discharged. Since launching our VETS program, we have provided over 1,000 hours of program services to our clients FREE of charge!
Michele and her team are certified, licensed and credentialed in multiple equine therapy and learning modalities, including the Arenas for Change (ARCH) Framework through Horses for Mental Health, as well as the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA).
“The challenges we face in life are opportunities to gain strength and to grow. When we open ourselves up to horses, that growth becomes accelerated”
